Turkey’s top news agency Anadolu is going strong in Iran, particularly since the official launching of its Farsi language website this summer.

Stating the above Sunday at a news conference on the main premises of the Culture Ministry’s Foreign Media Department, representative M. Melih Ahishali said the Farsi language section of Anadolu Agency publishes news and reports on current affairs in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

Ahishali, who is also in charge of Anadolu’s Tehran Bureau, went on to state that the international agency has signed a cooperation agreement with IRNA and is at the same time cooperating extensively with other Iranian wire services such as Fars News, ISNA and Mehr News Agency. He thanked the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance for supporting Anadolu Agency throughout these years and said Iran and Turkey are like two different trees but with one root.

Established in 1920, Anadalu Agency is a leading wire service in the world. It has 32 offices worldwide publishing news in several langauges, including Farsi, Turkish, English and Arabic.
