Kudus TV: “Assad Must Go” Turkey Forced to Change Course

The government of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was forced to gradually change its anti-Syria policy after realizing that foreign-backed terrorist groups and so-called “moderate” militants could not unseat President Bashar al-Assad.

Stating the above at a press conference on November 10, on the sidelines of the 21st International Press Exhibition, Ramazan Bursa, the Tehran Bureau chief of Kudus TV, said Erdogan had to change course because he was also under immense pressure from the general public and the opposition.

The Turkish journalist went on to state that Erdogan accepted the sure fact that President Assad will stay in power and is part of any transitional process.

Bursa added, “According to the official policy in Turkey, Daesh and Nusra Front are both considered terrorist groups, although Ankara has some reservations for other militants such as the Free Syrian Army.”

In conclusion, Bursa acknowledged that Turkish media outlets are not always impartial, particularly when it comes to dealing with domestic issues.

Kudus TV is a religious satellite TV channel. Its headquarters are based in Beyoglu and Istanbul.
