Around 500 reporters from 29 countries in Iran to cover Friday elections
At least 473 foreign reporters will be on the ground here in Iran Friday to give news coverage to elections for the Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament) and the Assembly of Experts.
According to the Foreign Media Department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, a total of 241 reporters and photojournalists, 95 of them non-resident, representing 84 media outlets along with 148 Iran-based bureau reporters, are expected to cover the elections for the 10th Islamic Consultative Assembly and the vote for the 5th Assembly of Experts.
Some 177 non-resident correspondents representing 46 radio and television organizations, six news agencies and websites, 32 journals – 84 in total – and 296 resident reporters from 148 media outlets will cover the February 26 elections.
The long list of countries whose reporters will be here to give coverage to the two elections held simultaneously on Friday include Austria, Spain, the US, Britain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Turkey, China, Denmark, Romania, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, France, Qatar, Canada, South Korea, Norway, the Netherlands, Lebanon, Azerbaijan, Australia, Afghanistan, the UAE, Colombia, Kuwait and Luxemburg.
