Al Rasheed TV: Arab, Western Media Fuelled the Rise of ISIS
Ahmad Al-Bahrani, Tehran Bureau Chief of Al Rasheed TV, said on Thursday that the rise of ISIS has been accompanied by the increasing presence of the terror group on mainstream and social media.
He noted that Arabic language TV channels and Western news networks have been supposedly in the cause of destroying the hyper-sectarian terror group (formerly known as Al-Qaeda in Iraq). “The truth is, they have been in the cause of supporting the self-styled caliphate. They helped fuel the rise of ISIS.”
The Iraqi news anchor went on to state that certain media outlets like Al Jazeera, Al Arabia and Sky News are also working round the clock – with budgets of up to $1.5 billion - to encourage the Arab world to normalise ties with the Zionist regime of Israel.
Al-Bahrani, who was addressing reporters at the 22nd Press Exhibition, further said that the same media coalition keeps spreading the lies that Iraq’s Popular Mobilisation Units are the other side of ISIS coin. “On the contrary, they are at the forefront of the war on ISIS in Iraq.
